Who We Are ?

Sharing common concerns and goals, a group of healthcare and service providers, community leaders, community organizations, patient advocates, EDI advocates, donors, and academics came together to form the RE-AIM Coalition.

On July 15, 2025, five of its members—Dr. Joseph Wong (Founder of Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care and Harmony Movement), Justin Poy (Honorary Patron of Asian Heritage Month), Amy Go (President of the Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice), Dr. Ted Lo (Co-founder and current Director of Hong Fook Mental Health Association), and Josephine Wong (Professor and Research Chair of Urban Health at Toronto Metropolitan University)—wrote to and requested a meeting with Dr. Kevin Smith, CEO of UHN, to engage in dialogue and co-create a solution to restore AIM in a way that aligns with the hospital’s strategic directions and benefits the community.

Since then, the RE-AIM Coalition has expanded to include a broader range of community agency members and service users who are concerned about the issues affecting our communities. Together, they are committed to reimagining how our public sector and institutions can be more responsive and provide much-needed, culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services across Canada.
